Some people's pet peeve is when their roommates or partners eat their leftover food without asking for permission, while others' pet peeve is when someone leaves leftover food for too long, and then it goes to waste.

These two types of people should absolutely not live together.

As someone who belongs to the former group, there is nothing that ticks me off more than when my husband eats something that was purposely bought for both of us. He is physically incapable of letting something sweet sit in the pantry for more than 48 hours, and by the time that I plan on eating it, it is long gone. The only way around it is if I buy food I know he doesn't like.

At least when it comes to leftovers, he is responsible enough to ask me before he goes to town on whatever is left in the fridge. That cannot be said about the roommate in the story below, who purposefully ate her roommate's leftover pasta without even asking first. When the roommate returned home and discovered her food gone, she was not pleased, and it led to a whole dispute.
